When managing high volumes of in-house or outsourced manufacturing, especially those with lengthy and in depth manufacturing processes, ensuring the correct procedures are followed and the progress of the works order can be monitored whilst retaining accuracy throughout each stage is fundamental to success.
But even with the best planning and scheduling, delays in the supply chain, staff absence and problems during manufacturing can all result in information needing to be processed through internal systems quickly to ensure that sales orders can be fulfilled on time.
Other companies whose manufacturing requirements represent a small proportion of their business activities or need to utilise manufacturing for simple processes as a method of gaining full control of component and built stock, often need a streamlined method of completing multiple works orders in one pass to save valuable time and money.
The OrderWise Manufacturing module provides a highly flexible and scalable solution for any business, regardless of whether your manufacturing requirements consist of a few one step works orders a month or hundreds of multifaceted, multi-level builds a day.
New development in the 2013 v8.12 release sees the introduction of two new features to make the process of handling manufacturing works orders even easier.
Highlight works orders en masse
Within the Work in Progress screen works orders can now be highlighted en masse. Although in itself this may initial seem like a small change, it opens up a range of new controls when handling manufactured products. With a group highlighted users are able to automatically allocate component products across multiple works orders simultaneously as well as being able to mass generate picking notes, works order listings and current process documents.
Build multiple works orders in one pass
Upon completion of the works orders, the new auto build feature allows singular or multiple works orders to be built in one pass dependant on component stock availability. When using the auto build feature OrderWise will automatically allocate any outstanding component items and pass all manufactured products, booking them in to stock.
These two new additions provide rapid and streamlined control of your manufacturing processes.
