Helping to accommodate our rapid growth, work on our new £1.3 Million building expansion began back in July and is currently progressing nicely, with the steel framework now firmly in place. Although this new building expansion isn’t due to be ready until early 2017, that hasn’t stopped OrderWise from recruiting new staff into a number of departments to help further the infrastructure and resources available to our constantly growing customer base. This latest new intake sees nine new members of staff arrive, with a mixture of roles being filled throughout OrderWise.
As is always the case, the first three weeks of their employment required them to learn how to use OrderWise and also take part in activities within our warehouse training facility. Ensuring the real life application of the software was fully understood, this intensive training was also interspersed with assessments of their knowledge and progress to ensure benchmark understanding was being achieved.
With a few weeks now behind them since their initial training was completed, each staff member has started settling into their new job role and begun the second stage of training in their respective departments. Officially joining the OrderWise team this month are:
James McLaughlan – Project Coordinator
James, or Jim as he’s internally known, joins our experienced Projects Team and will work alongside them to help each new OrderWise client implement the software successfully into their business. Jim has worked in many worldwide retail organisations, including most recently at Starbucks where he held a managerial role and helped lead his team to a regional award. This shows that Jim possesses a real understanding of how businesses operate on a daily basis, which will serve him well as he settles into his new role here at OrderWise. In his spare time, Jim loves riding motorbikes, however he had to sell his prized cycle for a car, as he and his partner now have two big dogs called Khan and Wilson. You could say, he swapped a vehicle without a roof for a vehicle with a WOOF!
Lee Bryan – Back-End Web Developer
Joining our expanding eCommerce team is Lee, who will be working as a developer creating scripts to seamlessly integrate OrderWise with customer websites. Having studied back-end web development at the University of Lincoln and recently worked at a website creation company in Newark, Lee brings with him a wealth of knowledge and skill to the OrderWise eCommerce team. Outside of work, Lee has a strong passion for cinema, as well as a keen interest in both Golf and Snooker. Although a keen player of the latter, he is still waiting for a scout to give him his BIG BREAK.
Charlotte Hill – Client Account Manager
Charlotte is the latest addition to our Client Services Team and her role will be to assist existing OrderWise customers with new software, staff training and more to help them meet their ongoing requirements. Before joining OrderWise, Charlotte was earning her degree in Fine Art from the University of Lincoln, then moved on to work as an Assistant Manager at a local nightclub. This has given Charlotte the creativity and experience in delivering excellent customer service that will make her an asset to the Client Services Team. In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys exploring new places, socialising with friends and portrait painting. So whether at work or outside of it, she’s usually BRUSHING around!
Romy Gray – QA Standards & Compliance Officer
Romy joins OrderWise this month as our new QA Standards & Compliance Officer, so her role is to ensure each department here at OrderWise is meeting the highest standards and following the correct procedures. Having previously held the role of QA Supervisor at Vodafone and prior to that worked on the SME Customer Services Escalations Team, Romy has a very strong understanding of what our clients expect and how we at OrderWise should operate effectively. When not at OrderWise, Romy likes going out with her friends, spending time with her daughter and reading, which I think you’ll agree is quite a NOVEL pastime!
Jamil Karkach – Marketing Consultant
Joining the OrderWise Marketing Team is Jamil, who will assist with a range of marketing activities to help raise awareness of the OrderWise brand and inform businesses across the UK & Ireland of the services we provide. In addition to qualifications in business, Jamil has a First Class Honours Degree in Law and previously worked for over 13 years for a Chartered Professional Body in the legal sector. His role there involved business development, employer engagement, profile raising/marketing, event attendances and the drafting of information sheets, brochures and articles. This vast knowledge and experience makes Jamil a welcome addition to the OrderWise Marketing Team. Outside of work, Jamil is a keen sports fan and cites cricket and football as his two favourites. However as a Liverpool fan, he definitely witnesses more trophy-winning on the cricket side!
Becky Ingamells – Technical Support Advisor
Becky is one of three members of staff joining our Support Team this month and her role will be to help our clients with any issues or questions they may have when using OrderWise. Having previously worked as a Debt Recovery Specialist, Becky is a proven problem-solver and has the OrderWise knowledge that will help her to quickly settle into her role within the Support Team. In her spare time, Becky enjoys going to the gym, watching ice hockey and researching different types of lions and other big cats. Becky also has a goal to one day travel into space, which I think is a pretty UNIVERSAL ambition for us all!
Henry Cliffe – Technical Support Advisor
Also arriving into the OrderWise Support Team is Henry Cliffe, who joins us having previously worked in the stockroom at Next in Lincoln. This employment provided Henry with knowledge of the real-life application of OrderWise that will serve him well as he begins to offer support to our valued clients. Outside of OrderWise, Henry enjoys playing sports and music production, the latter of which he also studied at A Level. Henry also mentioned that he previously worked as a lifeguard and rumour has it, he will star in the new Baywatch reboot alongside The Rock and Zac Efron, however this has yet to be confirmed.
Sam Hare – Technical Support Advisor
Joining Becky in the OrderWise Support Team is Sam Hare, who will also be helping our customers to answer any questions they may have or resolve any problems they might encounter. With Sam possessing a degree in Computer Science from the University of Lincoln, he has the technical mind that makes him a great new addition to the ever-growing team of OrderWise Technical Support Advisors. When he’s not working, Sam’s hobbies include reading about new technology and supporting Lincoln City FC. Such is Sam’s passion for Lincoln City, he previously worked as their groundsman where he looked after the stadium. So OrderWise customers can be sure then that Sam’s support will always be nothing short of PITCH perfect!
Nikita Cairnie – Cleaner
Also joining the OrderWise team is Nikita, who recently joined the company as our new cleaner. With over 130 members of staff working at OrderWise now, it doesn’t take much for the building to become messy these days. Luckily we have Nikita around who comes in everyday to ensure that OrderWise HQ always remains completely spotless and tidy for when our clients and prospective clients come to visit us.
I am sure you will join all of us here at OrderWise in welcoming our nine new employees into the OrderWise Family and in wishing them all the best in their new roles.
