This month we welcome five new employees as the company continues to increase staff numbers. The latest recruits are now settling into their various roles, helping to strengthen OrderWise resources across the business.
As ever, the first three weeks of their employment was spent learning how to use OrderWise and taking part in activities in our warehouse training facility to provide experience of the software in a practical environment. The intensive training also involved assessments of knowledge and progress to ensure that benchmark understanding was being achieved.
Even with the initial training out of the way, our newest employees can expect continued training alongside the rest of the 160+ staff on various developments within OrderWise, ensuring that they are always up to speed with our continuously developed software.
This month we welcome:
Ben Carthew – Technical Support Advisor
The latest addition to our Support team is Ben who previously worked in a support role at Danwood for nine years, and this experience will stand Ben in great stead as he begins to support OrderWise users with their software solution. Outside of work Ben is keen on most sports, particularly football and golf, and he also enjoys playing PS4. Ben is also a fan of tattoos and has a lot of his body already covered in ink, with plans for many more. Ben also enjoys spending time with his family at home – there are just TATTOO of them, his wife and young son!
Sophie Hull – Project Manager
Our newest Project Manager is Sophie who will be joining the Projects team after a spell with our Support team, gaining valuable experience of the OrderWise software and our customer base. Sophie brings great experience with her as she was previously a Project Manager for a company that developed private hospital management systems. Before that she lived in Australia where Sophie soon found herself in the outback where she had some more unusual experiences – helping cows and pigs give birth! One of the more memorable, and painful, moments was getting stuck in a cow feeder with a dislocated shoulder! With such a range of experiences under her belt we’re sure Sophie will make an UDDERLY brilliant Project Manager here at OrderWise.
Daniel Brown – Software Tester
The first of two new additions to our Testing team this month is Daniel who will be starting his OrderWise career with some time in our Support Department first. Daniel has 3 years’ experience as a Games Tester with Rockstar and before this he studied Media Production at the University of Lincoln. Whilst at university Daniel worked on a number of film productions and in his spare time he likes to perform at open mic comedy nights. He’s even appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to TEST out his material and got his first review – one star! Luckily, Daniel has other interests that include podcasting and football.
Simon Pegg – Client Account Manager
The latest Client Account Manager to join OrderWise is Simon who has vast experience in account management at Danwood, looking after a variety of businesses in a wide range of sectors. This experience will be invaluable to Simon when he begins his account management role, after he’s gained detailed experience of OrderWise in our Support Department. Outside of work Simon spends his time keeping his two daughters happy and entertained and also playing golf. So, having TEE’D OFF in his new career we’re sure that Simon is on COURSE for great things here at OrderWise.
Roy Smith – Software Tester
Our second new Software Tester this month is Roy, who joins us after gaining 8 years of experience as a Tester and eCommerce Despatcher for an electronics and games retailer. This experience will stand Roy in good stead in his new role here at OrderWise, as he helps his team ensure that our software is of the highest quality. Outside of work, Roy enjoys spending time with his children and walking his dog. Roy also plays the guitar and enjoys video games.
A big welcome to the latest additions to the OrderWise family, we wish them the best of luck in their new roles!
