With us well into 2018 now, this year’s London Marathon is not too far away and our very own IT Technician, Jay Lee, has stepped up his training regime in readiness for the big event.
Running to raise money for the NSPCC, Jay has been training for some time now for the event which is shown on television in nearly 200 countries and regularly features elite professional athletes, with Sir Mo Farah competing this year!
With fundraising for charity being the aim of over 75% of the runners, Jay is hoping to contribute towards smashing last year’s record-breaking fundraising amount of £59.4 million!
Jay has certainly been dedicated in preparing for his marathon endeavours in April. In January, Jay ran over 200 miles in total, which included running to work twice a week. Undertaking such a training regime is no mean feat, especially considering the weather we’ve had recently!
In addition to the desire to raise money for such a worthy cause, Jay has been pushed on by his family and especially his youngest son who has taken to running with Jay twice a week too.
If you would like to get involved, you can donate towards Jay’s fundraising efforts and support the NSPCC by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jmj26
There’s not long to go now and we’ll continue checking in with Jay as he prepares for the big event in April!
