While many of us were able to enjoy the London Marathon from the comfort of our sofa, one OrderWise staff member took on the challenge of the race to help fundraise for charity. For the past few months, Senior Business Consultant Andrew Cheney has been tackling all weather, training hard and preparing himself mentally and physically for the gruelling 26.2 mile course.
In his third London Marathon, Andy was able to complete the demanding course in an impressive time of 3 hours 57 minutes. Sadly he was unable to beat his main rival, Mo Farah, who was able to beat his time by a good 1 hour 49 Minutes – maybe next time Andy!
Although Andy may have fallen short of beating Mo, he was able to achieve his primary goal and has so far raised an incredible £500 for his chosen charity, Action For Children. OrderWise kick-started the fundraising by donating £250 to the campaign, with friends and family also contributing to the ongoing total. This money will go towards helping vulnerable and neglected children in the local area.
So we hope you will join all of us here at OrderWise in saying a big well done to Andy for all the hard work and effort gone in to achieving this fantastic amount.
