With months of intense training behind them, this month saw two OrderWise staff members join over 40,000 amateur and professional athletes to undertake the 2018 London Marathon. This year saw the event take place under extremely hot conditions, which made the event all the more challenging!
Jay Lee from our IT department, whose training we have been covering for the last few months now, was running to raise funds for a charity close to his heart, the NSPCC. Despite an injury very early on to his knee, Jay finished the race in an impressive 5 hours, 1 minute and 27 seconds. These tremendous efforts have seen him raise a staggering total of £2,064 so far for the NSPCC, with donations still flooding in – well done Jay!
However Jay wasn’t the only one to make OrderWise proud. Christian Blanchette from our Reports & Layouts department also managed to complete the 26.2 mile course, in a great time too of 4 hours, 46 minutes and 3 seconds. For her efforts, Christian has raised an impressive £250 for the National Autistic Society, a very worthy cause – well done Christian!
If you are inspired by their efforts, donations can still be made via the following links:
A huge congratulations go to both Jay and Christian for their amazing efforts in completing the London Marathon, and for raising valuable funds for two very worthy causes.
