The introduction of this OrderWise Commerce platform was without a doubt the biggest new addition to OrderWise in 2015 and our Website Design & Development team have wasted little time enhancing the functionality available as standard for users of this dynamic eCommerce platform. With so many great new additions made in version 11.1 of OrderWise, here are just some of the many new features available with an OrderWise Commerce website that is fully integrated with the OrderWise Business Management Software solution.
Purchasing Management System
The first new addition is a comprehensive new tool that has been designed to help OrderWise users handling customers that are purchasing on behalf of companies, branches and branch employees. With this new system, users now have full control over the branches from which their customers can order and the products that are available to them.
What’s more as the platform is fully integrated to OrderWise, users are able to achieve automated control of customer spending by synchronising the available to spend directly from the relative customer account balance within OrderWise. Additionally, account customers are able to pay on account up to the level of this synchronised available to spend balance, with customers on hold or over their credit terms disabled from using this payment option. To gain an enhanced level of control, users can configure the system so that managers must approve orders before they are imported into OrderWise, with the option to have customers grouped and their orders imported against a single account in OrderWise also available.
For businesses ordering apparel, there is also additional functionality to help manage the ordering of these products too. Items can be combined into a single pack so that orders can be packaged up and shipped for a specific employee (commonly known as Man Packs) and systems administrators are able to upload approved artwork to then be printed onto the garments. Where a product may have multiple colours and sizes, a new trade grid has been added which will display all available combinations alongside their current stock status. Customers can then use this trade product grid to quickly add their chosen quantities of multiple products to their cart with just a single click.
Click & Collect
With many online shoppers looking to further reduce the time it takes to receive the products they purchase online, many businesses are starting to introduce click and collect schemes so that customers can choose to pick up goods from their nearest store if they are available. To accommodate this, a new shipping method of click and collect has been made available on the OrderWise Commerce platform. Users can set a single base price for this click and collect shipping option and limit use to specific customers, customer types and countries.
Coinciding with this, OrderWise Commerce users can also benefit from their customers having access to a store locator that enables them to search by a postcode and distance from their address for local stores and their relevant opening times. Furthermore, this store locator will also offer directions to a given store from the customer’s location which is recognised automatically.
For businesses selling to both trade and retail customers through a single website, it is important to always ensure that the products, prices and overall shopping experience is personalised for each particular customer type. To help OrderWise Commerce users easily manage this, a new option has been added to enable the use of custom website profile pages, which represents the area where a customer would usually update their personal details. This area can now be tailored for different user groups, with the ability to control what offers and products are promoted on this page.
To coincide with this, another new feature has been added that enables users to automatically assign discontinued variants to their own specialised category, for example clearance stock. The visibility of these items can then be limited to selected users, again allowing users to tailor the shopping experience for their customers.
Free Shipping Notifications
As a means of increasing the value of each online order, it is not uncommon for businesses to offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount to encourage customers near to achieving this to spend more.
To help with this, new functionality has been added to allow OrderWise Commerce users to notify their customers of how much more needs to be spent in order to reach this free delivery threshold. As part of this notification, a selection of products will also be displayed that are priced high enough to qualify the customer for free shipping if purchased.
