There are many different roles within a business where keeping a keen eye on margins is important. From sales and branch managers to accounts, Finance and Managing Directors, all have their own reasons and specific areas they will be looking at when it comes to analysing margins.
As an area with a wealth of information on where improvements can be made, profits increased, performance enhanced and more, there have been a further 4 standard reports added in the 2014 v9.2 release to focus on this.
Estimated Sales Margin by Variant Report
Grouped by variant and for each order line the report shows qty required & sent, RSP, discount, total line net, total cost, margin & margin % along with the total qty, net cost, margin & margin % for each variant grouping.
While stock is unallocated to orders the estimated cost will be provided, once goods have been allocated or despatched the actual cost can be returned.
Estimated Sales Margin By Category Report
Working as the Variant report, information is then further summarised to the Variant Category level.
Invoiced Lines Margin by Variant Report
Invoiced Lines Margin by Category Report
Both of these invoiced lines reports mirror the information provided in the estimated sales reports but will only show invoice line data. With all of these margin reports, any order level discount, surcharge or delivery cost is not accounted for when providing cost and margin calculations.
In addition to the 4 new margin reports there are 2 new reports designed to help highlight and improve efficiencies in the way the warehouse is managed.
Bin Picking Heat Report
This provides a list of the top ‘N’ bins within the defined date range by stock location based on the number of individual pick lines through the bin. Additional options can display summaries of all variants picked from the locations and total quantity picked within the date range.
Variant Picking Heat Report
This provides a list of the top ‘N’ variants within the defined date range by stock location based on the number of individual pick lines the variant has been on. Additional options can display summaries of all bin numbers the variant has been picked from and total quantity picked from the bins within the date range.
These heat reports provide businesses with invaluable information to determine how effective the management of bins and stock in the warehouse is being managed to maximise the efficiency of picking and stock movements.
