With more and more businesses turning to OrderWise for end-to-end business management software, we have recruited five new members of staff to help the company as it continues to expand over the coming twelve months and beyond.
As always the first few weeks of their employment required them to learn how to use OrderWise and take part in activities within our warehouse training facility, helping to ensure the real life application of the software was fully understood. This intensive training was also interspersed with assessments of their knowledge and progress to ensure benchmark understanding was being achieved.
With a few weeks behind them now since their initial training was completed, our five new starters have begun settling into their job roles and started the second stage of training in their respective departments. The five new members of staff joining the OrderWise Team this month are:
Tom Nelson – Front End Developer
Tom joins the constantly expanding OrderWise Commerce team as a Front End Web Developer, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience to the department. Having previously worked in various forms of web development and also carrying a degree in Applied Computing, Tom has all the tools needed to succeed in his role at OrderWise. Outside of work, Tom enjoys playing bass in his band, supporting Sheffield United FC and also has a strong passion for anything to do with Classic Minis. That must mean he’s also a big fan of Mr. Bean!
Mike Glew – Software Tester
Joining the Development & Testing team as a Software Tester is Mike Glew, who has spent the past 8 years running his own retail business in Somerset. Mike has also previously worked for HP, BT, Rascal, the RAF and Octel, testing systems like The National Lottery, the Government Data Network and various EDI systems. This impressive software testing experience and understanding of the real-life application of OrderWise makes Mike the ideal addition to the OrderWise Testing Team. In his spare time, Mike enjoys railway modelling and fishing, the latter of which hooked him into moving to the Lincolnshire area so that he could buy his own fishing lake – although he doesn’t like to Carp on about it!
Kester Morley – Technical Support Advisor
Also joining OrderWise this month is Kester Morley, who joins the OrderWise Support Team as a Technical Support Advisor. Possessing a Law degree and having previously worked in support for Europe’s biggest online retailer of preowned bike parts, Kester has the technical understanding and customer service experience to effectively offer assistance to OrderWise users. When he’s not at OrderWise, Kester enjoys driving his Peugeot 106GTI all over the UK with his bike on the back finding good spots for mountain biking.
Peter Atkinson – Technical Support Advisor
Joining Kester in the OrderWise Support Team is Peter Atkinson, who used to work for a local computer component specialist selling to trade customers and online to the end user. This company was also an OrderWise user, so Peter brings with him over 10 years of practice using OrderWise in a live environment. This invaluable experience makes Peter a welcome asset to the OrderWise Support Team. Outside of work, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and 7 year old son, as well as restoring Classic VW Cars. I sense we may see a drag race between Peter in his VW, Tom in his Mini and Kester in his Peugeot/on his Mountain Bike in the near future!
Samuel Dawson – Technical Support Advisor
The final new addition to the OrderWise Support Team is Samuel Dawson. After gaining his degree in Forensic Science, Sam last year spent 10 weeks volunteering in Lesotho educating children. Having also previously worked in high-pressure kitchen environments, Sam possesses the intelligence, patience and understanding to help him become a key member of the OrderWise Support Team. In his spare time, Sam enjoys creating digital art, roller blading and playing his guitar. With Sam on the guitar and Tom on bass, we have the makings of our own OrderWise house band!
I am sure you will join all of us here at OrderWise in welcoming our five new starters to the OrderWise Family and wishing them all the best in their new roles.
