Eliminate Double Handling of Works Order Components at Goods In

Goods In thumbIn fast paced warehouse environments where goods are quickly turned around, carefully and effectively managing stock arriving from suppliers can be a real challenge. In many cases it may be that stock arriving has already been either sold or promised to a customer or another branch. When stock arriving has already been allocated, businesses need to ensure it is clearly identified to avoid it being double handled and ensure maximum efficiency in booking in processes is achieved.

However whereas for many businesses stock allocated to sales orders may be their only concern when booking in goods, manufacturers have extra considerations. Component stock arriving from suppliers may be needed to replenish stock levels or be sold as items in their own right and allocated to sales orders, while also being used to manufacture one or numerous products with components already allocated to works orders which are waiting for the stock to arrive before they can be progressed.  Without the correct systems in place, these businesses can end up spending time putting all components away in to the warehouse before shortly after having to send staff to pick them again for sales and works orders.  The impact of this over all goods received can add up to significant time lost, reducing the volume of sales orders that can be despatched and valuable production time wasted.
