In busy trade counter environments, it’s important for businesses to ensure processes are kept as streamlined as possible. By ensuring fast, effective point of sale order processing is delivered, businesses are able to maximise sales and provide customers with highly satisfactory service. However even with the right processes in place to ensure customers are served as quickly as possible, having a slow system that requires additional steps to be completed can really escalate trade counter serving times.
One area in particular that can commonly slow down the speed at which customers are served is the generation of invoices. This is not normally a problem when serving account customers as many of these clients would expect invoices at the end of the month or a frequency of their choosing rather than at point of collection. However cash sales trade counter customer can often require an invoice to be generated and printed with their order, in fast paced trade counter environments it is crucial to handle this documentation quickly to ensure service levels are fast and efficient. Too often, staff will have to navigate between multiple systems just to produce the necessary paper work and then force the customer to wait while this is printed. When this is a regular situation, especially during peak morning trading times, businesses can really suffer from inefficiency and dissatisfactory service at point of sale.
In addition to the negative impacts working in this way has on both speed and service levels, in many cases it will also provide sales staff with admission to system areas only managers and supervisors should be able to access.
Automatically Output POS Invoices And Deliver More Efficient Customer Service
To solve both of these issues, new functionality has been added in version 10.3 of OrderWise to enable invoices in POS (Trade Counter) to be outputted automatically. Once this feature is activated, when a POS order is saved for a customer, the POS invoice and invoice copy are automatically output. The only time this is not the case is if the customer is set have their POS invoices generated in the Invoicing module instead as would normally be the case for account customers.
With this new functionality, businesses operating trade counters with OrderWise are able to benefit from much faster order processing, providing higher customer service levels as a results. On top of this, OrderWise users are also provided with better security and more enhanced control over which members of staff have the capabilities to access and generate invoices within the Invoicing module.
